Trapped Motorist Found Alive After Days in Overturned Truck
Two Indiana fishermen discovered a miraculously surviving motorist trapped in his overturned truck for nearly a week in a creek. The 27-year-old driver, Matthew Reum, was found by Mario Garcia and Nivardo Delatorre while scouting for fishing spots.
Reum had been pinned since a December 20 crash but survived by drinking rainwater. After a challenging rescue, Reum, a welder, was airlifted to Memorial Hospital with severe injuries, including an amputated leg. The Boilermakers Local 374 union expressed support for his recovery. Authorities highlight the importance of informing others about travel plans and carrying emergency essentials.
